Koodariverstas in action

Koodariverstas operates on the principle of being an one-stop-shop, offering solutions tailored to companies’ needs on a situational basis. Koodariverstas streamlines the often challenging and complex collaboration with educational institutions and their students. At Koodariverstas assignments are accepted quickly and are often set in motion on the same day.

A quick overview of our workflow:

1: Assignment is submitted

When you submit an assignment to Koodariverstas we receive a notification almost immediately. All assignments and inquiries are read as soon as possible. We aim to respond to each commission within one business day. In our response we may ask for more detailed information or simply inform you that we have seen your message and have taken it into processing.

2: Koodariverstas Begins Preliminary Work

In the preliminary work we accurately determine the required amount of work and start looking for suitable students based on the scope of the assignment. We will also contact you regarding more detailed information about your needs and expectations. At this stage we will also actively discuss your wishes and implementation with teachers and other experts.

3: Selecting the implementation method

The plans made based on previous discussions and preliminary work are presented and you can choose whether the proposed implementation method suits you. If the project is clearly larger than what students can realistically accomplish Koodariverstas can offer alternate approaches. These alternative approaches could for example: technical specifications or recommend a suitable company that meets your needs. If your needs are suitable for a student to implement and fit within one of our service categories, we will proceed according to the definition of that service category.

4: Signing a contract

When all preliminary work is completed, we will draft a written agreement with you regarding the upcoming implementation. The agreement will define the areas of responsibility, goals, and expectations. It will also cover things like recommendation letters and other ground rules. If necessary, we will also draft a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Koodariverstas’ services are free and do not cost you anything.

Our service categories

Short-Term projects

This service category includes quick preliminary work or small micro-projects.

An example of quick preliminary work could be: “What ready-made open-source service could improve my inventory management?

These assignments can be directed straight to classrooms, where students work in groups to research possible solutions.

If you need someone for a small project, Koodariverstas will assign a student to carry out the project without your company having a say in who performs the project.

These projects require the least commitment from your company.

Medium-Term projects

This service category includes medium-term research, development work, and longer-term consultancy work.

The scope of medium-term projects is approximately one month.

In these projects, Koodariverstas can send your company a list of suitable students from which your company can interview and select the most suitable person.

If your company already has skilled personnel, we expect your company to appoint a mentor for the student during the implementation period.

If the assignment involves development work, your company will also act as the product owner for the project.

Long-Term projects

This service category consists of more challenging projects. Examples of challenging projects include long-term software product testing, software development in a large project, or developing and researching a completely new product.

The scope of a long-term project is often around 2-4 months.

In long-term projects, the model for selecting the implementer is the same as in medium-term projects.

These projects require commitment from your company. Your company will appoint a mentor for the student, monitor the student’s progress, and guide them in the right direction as needed.

Your company will act as the product owner in all long-term projects.
